Here is what we ate for dinner yesterday!
紅焼猪脚 (Slow cooked pork feet)
Here is the summary of cooking procedure:
1. Boil in water for a while, then throw away the water
2. Fry the pork feet with some soy sauce
3. Slow cook in water, dashi, soy sauce, sugar, star anise, ginger, garlic, wine, bay leaf, and what else... I cannot remember...
I cooked this the day before we ate (all in all ca 5 hours). Most of the bones just came off themselves in the pan, and the meat was soooo soft and jelly like!! :)
鶏の竜田揚げ (Deep fried chicken in Japanese ¨Tatsuta¨ style
Always great with this dish. As the pork feet is based on soy sauce with sugar taste, I made the chicken only with salt and ginger to have a lighter taste as contrast.
We also had side dishes of rice, tomato/coriander salad, and fried asparagus. The asparagus was seasoned with salt, pepper, butter, and a tiny bit of soy sauce.
What should I cook tonight?
